Towards Safe Robotic Agricultural Applications: Safe Navigation System Design for a Robotic Grass-Mowing Application through the Risk Management Method

Safe navigation is a key objective for autonomous applications, particularly those involving mobile tasks, to avoid dangerous situations and prevent harm humans. However, the integration of risk management process not yet mandatory in robotics development. Ensuring safety using robots critical many real-world especially which contact with robot could result fatal consequences, such as agricultural environments where device an industrial cutter used grass-mowing. In this paper, we propose explicit into design software grass mower, aim enhancing safety. Our approach tested validated simulated scenarios that assess effectiveness different custom functionalities terms collision prevention, execution time, number required human interventions.
